Customer story · French B2B distributor
Magento Open Source 2.4.4 to 2.4.7 upgrade across staging and production over six weeks. Eighteen days of internal dev time saved. All twenty-three installed modules functional post-cut.
The problem
Stuck on Magento 2.4.4 because the in-house team did not have bandwidth for the upgrade and three custom modules had not been tested against newer versions. Security advisories for unpatched 2.4.4 were starting to arrive monthly. The team had attempted an upgrade in-house six months earlier and rolled it back.
What we did
Pre-upgrade audit of all twenty-three installed modules (third-party plus custom). Composer compatibility patches for the three custom modules. Two-week staging dry run with full smoke-test pass. Off-hours production cutover with database backup taken five minutes before the start. Post-launch monitoring for 72 hours with rollback plan ready in case of regression.
The outcome
Six-week engagement end-to-end. Zero unplanned downtime during the cutover (planned 45-minute maintenance window, finished in 32). All twenty-three modules functioning post-upgrade. Eighteen days of internal dev time saved vs the in-house team's estimate. Outstanding security advisories cleared.
